Muscat. Oman

after moving apartment, carrying heavy boxes, getting sending away the last letters, F and I finally started our Round the World trip!
First stop - Oman. Muscat.
A wonderful  slow capital with friendly people, bargaining, Souks (bazaars), beach and quite tasty food (how do you like a boiled baby shark dish?! ).
It is hard to get around without taxi, but if you know how to bargain (come on, we are on the Middle East here!!) you get a good deal!!
No shopping - but instead visiting the Grand Mosque, Sultans palace, a fish market (is a must!!) and drinking plenty of fresh juices (pomegranate...yum!!).

my pot flowers found a flower-sitter for the next two months, so I am enjoying the cut flowers at the moment.

last weekend in Nürnberg

my last weekend in Nürnberg has officially started. You know, before leaving something, you start thinking about what you are living. I never liked living in Nürnberg ..until one day I realized, that I met so many good people being here, people who care about me and whom I will miss, the ones I can call friends!! I felt comfortable and good living here. I like Nürnberg  not as a city...but as a place which offered me all those wonderful opportunities and gave me memories of which I will cherish. 2,5 years have passed like a day...but I have so much to remember!!! Thank you Nürnberg .and thank you my dear colleagues and friends..

Hello from Russia

I spent wonderful days with my family and friends...before traveling it was a good thing to do!
I ate like an elephant (you know, grandma thinking you are too thin, Pancake week started, family visits, World Women Day...it all came together).
I love being in St-Petersburg with my loved ones...but every time I realize once again, that I won"T be able to live my life there anymore.

the first place I called "home"

I am back from my family visit in St-Petersburg..and I want to introduce you the place, where I was born and lived happily the first 16 years of my life. This is the first place I called "HOME" (there are so many of them by now). This is where I learned how to walk and from here I went to school. For this place I will always be a kid, who is feeding the food she didn't want to eat to her dog. Here I sneaked into the dark bathroom to observe my grandpa developing his own photos. In this place every holiday lots of guests and family members got together. This place heard so much laugh and so many tears. I come here every time I am in St-Petersburg...just to remember and enjoy, that it didn't change...at least until now..

around the world

As I promised to tell you about my future plans, here we go:

- the last two weeks I spent packing, shipping and giving away  A LOT of my things. Strating from 1 April I will not live in Nürnberg (I gave away my appartment) and I won't be working for the company I have been working for the past 2,5 year (I quit that one as well). I feel really good and relieved about these two changes.

- I am starting a new job in July, which happened quite spontaneously (I quit my old one and after 2 days I got an offer from this new company I am really looking forward to work for). Location: Düsseldorf. More future plans from this direction will follow in my other posts.

- F. is also starting his new job in July, so between April and July we have a break. Guess what we are going to do?!
We will go once around the world. It is going to be a bit less than in 80 days..and not with by a baloon, but it is going to be an around-the-globe trip! So we are busy planning and planning and getting excited and frustrated and excited again!
I will try my best to blog during our travel...04 April is the start.

I think I told you quite a lot for now on...more updates to follow.
